Pegbox™ License Agreement

The short version. You buy Pegbox once and may use it on up to 3 Macs of your own for each seat you bought. Your sounds stay yours. The optional AI tools run on your own accounts with those providers, under their terms. If Pegbox isn't for you, ask for a refund within 30 days. The software comes as it is, so keep backups.
The full terms below are what count.
1. Who this is between
This agreement is between you and db SoundLabs, a brand of db Music Productions, Inc. ("we"). It covers the Pegbox app for macOS, the Pegbox Remote app for iPad, and their updates ("Pegbox"). By installing or using Pegbox you agree to it.
2. What you may do
- The free version. Without a license key, you may use Pegbox free of charge within the limits the free version sets.
- A license. A license key bought from us through Gumroad lets you use the full version of Pegbox on up to 3 Macs that you own or control, for each seat purchased. It is yours for as long as you keep to this agreement; there is no subscription.
- Studios. A multi-seat license is for that many people. Each seat covers up to 3 Macs.
- Moving to another Mac. Each Mac you unlock uses one of your places, and Remove from This Mac does not give that place back. If you have run out because you replaced or sold a Mac, write to info@dbsoundlabs.com and we will reset your key.
- Pegbox Remote is part of the full version and works with a licensed Mac.
3. What you may not do
- Share, sell, rent or publish your license key, or use one key for more Macs or people than you bought.
- Get around the license check or the free version's limits, or help anyone else do so.
- Resell or redistribute Pegbox itself. You may of course share the DMG with someone who will unlock it with their own key.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble Pegbox, except where the law says you may regardless of this agreement.
4. The license check
When you unlock Pegbox, it sends your license key to Gumroad to check that it is valid, and it checks again about once a month while your Mac is online. If a check can't get through, nothing changes; an offline Mac is never locked out. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, or a key has been switched off because it was shared or leaked, Pegbox returns to the free version on that Mac. Nothing in your library is deleted.
5. Your files and your data
Your sounds, libraries and projects are yours; this agreement gives us no rights in them. Pegbox keeps your library on your Mac. We don't run a server that receives your library or tracks how you use Pegbox. What leaves your Mac is only what you ask for: the license check above, and the requests the optional AI tools send to the providers whose keys you added.
6. Other companies' services
The optional AI tools (SFX Generator, Voice Generator, Voice Isolator, Transcribe, and AI icons) use your own ElevenLabs, OpenAI or Google Gemini accounts. Those providers' own terms, prices and policies apply to that use, and you are responsible for it, including having the rights to any voice or audio you process. Pro Tools is a product of Avid Technology, Inc. Pegbox works alongside these products and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
7. Refunds
If Pegbox isn't right for you, ask for a refund within 30 days of your purchase, no questions asked. Write to info@dbsoundlabs.com or use your Gumroad receipt. A refunded key stops unlocking Pegbox.
8. No warranty
Pegbox is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise it will be free of errors or work with every version of every other product. Keep your own backups of your audio, sessions and libraries.
9. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost audio, sessions, data, profits or time, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of Pegbox. In any case, our total liability is limited to what you paid for your license.
10. Ending this agreement
This agreement ends if you break it, or when a purchase is refunded or charged back. When it ends, stop using the full version; the free version remains available on the free version's terms.
11. Changes and law
We may update this agreement for future versions of Pegbox; the version in force when you bought applies to that purchase. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States of America.
